Habits of Health

Sometime between the time I went to bed last night and the time I woke up this morning,
I hatched a thought.
Maybe a question more than a developed thought.
It's about health.
And habits.
My question goes something like this:
Is there a difference between healthy habits and habits of health?
My initial thought is that there is.
At this late age, you'd think I would have this issue nailed down.
 I don't.  I'm still wrestling with it.
And for the present, my focus is on establishing habits of health.
 What think YOU?
And what is YOUR most cherished habit of health?

  1. I've been a walking for an hour a day about 5 days a week for over 20 years. I added some jogging a few years back. Staying physically active as long as I'm able is important to my physical and emotional well being.

  2. I agree with Elizabeth, walking, it is not only physically good for you, it is good way to relieve stress and unwind.

  3. I agree about the walking, too....but I don't think that answers your question; to which, I'm confused (which is somewhat a normal state of mind for me these days). Maybe "habits of health" is a general term of things we should do....and "healthy habits" are the things that we actually do?!?!?

    1. I guess I've tried "healthy habits" for so many years, flitting from one to another. Emphasis (maybe) on HABITS.

My latest endeavor is to emphasize HEALTH - making IT my goal rather than tripping over habits.

Probably the same thing to many people. I'm just trying to approach it from a healthier, more produce angle, i guess.

  4. I think I get what you are saying Rebecca. As in diet some label foods good and bad, which might be a example of healthy habits, as in I will eat no junk, I will eliminate all sugar, etc. these habits are impossible to live by. However if you move to habits of health you will realize there is no good or bad food there is simply moderation and a place for all things within reason. So habits of health is a sustained effort to make better choices in taking care of body, mind and soul.
