Beauty begets beauty because when we see it we must share it. (Tim Keller)
Beautiful Savior,
King of Creation,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I'd love Thee,
Truly I'd serve Thee,
Light of my soul, my Joy, my Crown.
King of Creation,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I'd love Thee,
Truly I'd serve Thee,
Light of my soul, my Joy, my Crown.
Fair are the meadows,
Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer;
He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer;
He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
Fair is the sunshine,
Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer,
Than all the angels in the sky.
Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer,
Than all the angels in the sky.
Beautiful Savior,
Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!
Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!

aka as "Fairest Lord Jesus" (wording a little different) - One of my favorites! One has to wonder what the writer was going through/thinking about when he/she scribed these beautiful words to paper.
ReplyDeletePeace and prayers for a beautiful week, Rebecca.
Yes. An OLD song - the Lutheran rendition, I guess. When our children attended Lutheran elementary school, it was one (of many) that I came to appreciate.
DeleteThat was wonderful!

I so miss the green and flowers from the mid-west (which seems so far east to me). I wasted $$$ trying to get a Hosta to grow here in the SW. Indeed, Jesus IS beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was new to me until I read the comment about Fairest Lord Jesus. Just beautiful words. Light of my Soul, my Jewel, my Crown. (Emily went to a Lutheran preschool, too.)
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, the two songs are just two different translations of the same "original". Isn't that interesting?
DeleteJust stopping by to say hi and hope you're doing well. hope you have an awesome weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful song. Good for humming.
