Grass dries up,
and flowers wither,
but the word of our God will last forever.
but the word of our God will last forever.
Isaiah 40:8
Alas! The grass and flowers in our yard and flower beds
ARE drying up and withering.
We've had a dry stretch here, and the seasons are a'changing....
But the Word of God remains...
"alive and powerful. It is
sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword,
cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.
It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."
cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.
It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."
Hebrews 4:12
Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
Psalm 119:165
and nothing can make them stumble.
Psalm 119:165
Our gardens are hitting the end of the season, too. Soon we will be cutting back, and putting the gardens to rest.
ReplyDeleteI love the growing seasons, and the beauties of the gardens, but I also love the restful time of Autumn and Winter in the gardens.

Our gardens do not rest, as they can and do grow all year long. We are coming into the season when they do their best actually and I am looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what the gardens do or don't do, I am thankful for God's unchanging faithfulness and His word which nourishes my heart and soul.
Have a great week Rebecca ~ FlowerLady
:) I guess if the GARDENS don't rest, the GARDENERS don't get to either!? I can "hear" the enjoyment in your words, Lorraine. I'm not sure I could keep up with it!
DeleteNice post. My flowers are half and half. Some going out rapidly while others are making a debut! Seasonal!
ReplyDeleteYep, the garden for sure has that end of season look. Our sunflowers have seen better days, the corn is turning brown, the purple cone flowers looked very shabby, and everything looks to be in the last hurrah before fall. But the weather is lovely, the skies blue with puffy clouds, the grass still green, it is simply a wonderful time of year.
ReplyDeleteHope you mom is doing better. We are having a much better week, we will leave last week where it belongs - in the past :).
I enjoy your posts very much.

All most feels unexpected this year...I know it happens each year at about the same time...but this year it was here in a blink. I like this quiet time of the season...very peaceful. Nice photo's.
ReplyDeleteSeasons change. God does not. This is good.
