Decisions! Decisions!

When my regular blue and white coffee mug went missing this morning, I opened my cupboard to make the important selection of which mug to use today.  For some reason it was hard to choose between these two.  I'm guessing  this won't be the hardest decision I have to make today...

How reassuring to know that I have a Source of wisdom and counsel for decisions large and small!  In God's own Word(s) I read,

[The LORD says,] "I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you." (Psalm 32:8)

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left.  (Isaiah 30:21)

(I chose the one on the right.  I DIDN'T hear a voice behind me...)

  1. Your welcome to come over and choose a new one from our collection. Glasses and mugs are something that I am forbidden to get rid of. I have nine boxes of them packed away in the basement. Why you ask? I have no idea, my husband says we must keep them, all of them.
I think he thinks someday we will open a restaurant!! Love Di ♥

    1. Oh, you make me feel better! (Or your HUSBAND makes me feel better....) I don't have 9 boxes, but I have enough and still find it hard to resist the temptation to buy another when it seems to call my name. That Gevalia one for instance - just last week!)

    2. Oops. Not Gevalia. But I can't spell the other one - Gheradelli, maybe.

  2. A white mug or a white mug? I have limited space so I do not buy pretty mugs. :(

  3. Not sure how it all started years ago but I began to get cups as gifts from family and friends. I guess I mentioned that I liked them or something. Now I have probably 35-40, I'm guessing. Because they were given as gifts from people I love I can't part with them. I have them hanging on the wall, stacked in wire cup holders, hanging on cup pegs and even in pull out drawers. No more cups for me, I hope!

    1. Wow, Sandy! Sounds like you and Diane could have a friendly little competition in the mug department! How special to be able to associate most of yours with the friends who gave them to you!

  4. As a former teacher, could you guess how many "teacher" mugs I have (had)... :)) I kept them for years, but have since "sorted" them and they have found homes elsewhere.

  6. A very practical Post, decision making can sometimes mire us down if we reach a place of indecisiveness. I've learned that practicing small decisions exercises decision making for the bigger decisions.

Thanks for stopping by today for a Blog Visit, I totally understand and respect that the 'dark' or creepy Posts aren't for everyone... I'll see you more often after Halloween. And yes, the sane and sensible approach worked out well this Morning at the Meeting. I was promised that we would be notified in the future of any and every injury so as to ensure that no unnecessary delays in seeking medical attention will be risked... all my concerns were addressed and we're hoping that the follow-up Medical attention after the swelling subsides will reveal that she hasn't broken or fractured the limb. I feel so badly for my baby girl & want her to always feel secure, safe and comfortable that when something happens responsible adults will respond appropriately in the future and she will be listened to respectfully even though she's a child and not have any needless suffering. I'm so glad I had a Morning of Prayer and Meditation to have the right words and Spirit to address the situation in a way that had the best and most Positive of outcomes.

  7. I am so very thankful for God's word and for that still small voice that I hear occasionally. Nothing like the novels that I read occasionally, though, where God's voice seems to instruct them at every turn. That doesn't seem real to me, what do you think?

    1. I agree, Cindy. (Haven't read any of those novels lately, but I would probably be a little dubious about them if I did...)

  8. Hi Rebecca,
I was gonna say I would choose the one on the right, love the roses. I know it is so comforting to know that we have someone who can help us with those really hard decisions in life......... isn't it! and it is also comforting to know that many decisions are already made for us if we just decide to follow God's word, and comforting to know we have a savior and friend who cares about all we care about.
    He is the Best...............
Hope all is well with you, it has been a bit of a busy
week here, but it is all good.............
    Blessings, Nellie

  9. Very nice quotes!
And I would have chosen that same mug!

Ray and I just boxed so many mugs and dishes and gave them to a friend for her yard sales (she does one every weekend from May through October in order to make ends meet). We're trying to purge the house for when we move. I can't believe how much we have accumulated! We are happy to de-clutter and she was happy to get the stuff, so it's been working out nicely. But it is hard deciding what to keep and what to let go of. But as you said, in the scheme of things, I guess deciding to keep 'things' or let them go is not such a big deal to decide on.

Take care, Rebecca. I've missed visiting here, but I'm so happy to see you on Facebook!
    Love and Prayers,
    Eileen

    1. "...for when we move..." How sweet (and bittersweet) the sound. I'm sure your friend is thankful and it DOES save you the hassle. I am happy to de-clutter, too.

  10. Love the verse in Psalms Rebecca! What a wonderful Abba Father we have to not only tell us which path to take..but who will watch over us as we move forward in it! happysigh... NOW ABOUT THOSE COFFEE CUPS... haha I always go for the big ole mug in my cupboard to accomodate the largest cup of joe out of the keurig! Your cups look the same size so another question is... roses or chocolate? Hmmmm... another tossup... it's all good!

    1. My hubby has the large cup...Mine ARE all about the same size. I have more of a "thing" about the rim--they have to have a sort of "lip" on them :)
