He's In a Good Place

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty
[Whose power no foe can withstand].
I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress,
my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
It was so hard for me to see him the first time yesterday.
I was afraid to hold him,
but our daughter and his nurse assured me he would be fine.
Working around/in spite of the many tubes was intimidating,
but then came the joy!
I didn't want to leave.
I spoke my love.
I sang him songs.
I prayed over him.
I rocked him.
Hours seemed like minutes.
I left him in a good place--a safe place...
the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91:1-2)
and Children's Memorial Hospital.
 I love Silas Everett.

  4. What a blessing to get to meet this much-loved grandson! I am sure that you bonded right away...around all the tubes and gizmos. I am joining you in prayer for little Silas...and for his family. It is a hard thing to have a baby in the hospital.

Thanking God for hospitals and equipment that is helping him breathe and recover - and for praying friends :)

Thank God he's got a Grandma praying her guts out. I would be doing the same thing.

  18. Elizabeth, of course that is our prayer, too. Thank you for joining us in that - and for God's glory...that someone (maybe even the 24/7 nurses who are in the room with family) will come to know Jesus and trust Him like we are.

  23. Dear Grandmother Rebecca,

Timothy had his Eunice and Silas has his Rebecca. You must know that not only was Timothy given to you...but that YOU were given to Timothy. Heaven heard you pray your guts out for this child. I believe that little Timothy will be fine and that one day, stories will be told of grandmothers who stayed before the altar on behalf of their little ones. Blessings on you and this baby. He looks like a fighter to me!
