A time for Dairy Queen treats
Framed picture on wall in Warsaw DQ |
a time to pray
Billy Sunday at Billy Sunday Museum |
a time to acquaint the younger generation with
giants in our Christian heritage
a time to play - Score Four
a time to catch fire-flies
a time to be sure our solar lights were working
and then a time to go to bed.
(There was also a trip to the library, counting 371 horses on the way,
several other games, and a great dinner
at Holy Trinity Church...and this was just 1/2 a day!)
"To everything -- a season, and a time to every delight under the heavens..."
(Young's Literal Translation of Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Fire-flies - how I miss them. We don't have fire-flies in AZ. I think my AZ grandkids would find them magical. Always love to stop in and visit, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and the Grands are making memories. What a fun time for you and them!

I love that first picture of the boys at Dairy Queen!
ReplyDeleteWe have so many fire flies this year, I love seeing them.
You have found the true meaning of "to everything there is a season"..I loved this post!
Fire-flies and jars. Summertime! Summertime!
ReplyDeleteWow! A time to catch fireflies! That is one thing my husband mentioned one evening as we were lamenting that we are deprived of our grandchildren while they are living far away, 'if they were here, we'd be out catching fireflies at Papa and Granny's farm!' On a lighter note.... the study of "Giants of the Faith" is one of my favorite subjects! I love to read the biographies and history of those who did great things for God!
ReplyDeleteOh how awesome...from beginning to end. Billy Sunday is one I always read and study with my children..I would love to go to that museum. I wish we had fireflies like that here...I am sure it is tooooooooooooo hot for them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful 1/2 a day. I am still fascinated by fire flies
ReplyDeleteMorning Rebecca,
ReplyDeletesounds like a fun half day to me!
Fireflys....oh my, I haven't seen one of those in years and years, we had such fun with those when we were children. They actually had these jars at walmart lately that had faux fireflys and when you moved the jar they would light up....guess I should have gotten me one!! lol I thought they were quite funny!!
and dairy queen haven't visited that place in a long time either, those icecream sandwiches look mighty good..........and your grandsons are cuties, love those expressions on their faces!!
Did you try making any quesadillas yet??? lol
Have a great weekend my friend,
Blessings, Nellie
