Don't Feel Sorry for Me!

^This is the scene outside our hotel window!
While my husband attended the morning's business session,
I found a Borders still open!
I was thrilled to be able to use the little bit remaining on a gift card
for a good cup of coffee and a piece of coffee cake.
(Our local Borders went out of business.)
I got a lot of ideas out of this issue of Flea Market Style
before deciding to get my hair cut in the same mall Borders was in.
Yesterday we found two thrift stores,
and this morning before returning to the Sawmill Creek Resort
I found another!  (Go here for the details.)
Last night we heard a powerfully inspiring message
from our conference speaker, Rex Bullock--
Fan the Flame from 2 Timothy 1:1-7.
I'm really looking forward to tonight's message.
It's such a treat to be here!

  3. Okay I will not feel sorry for you...this unpacking lady, in 100 plus degree weather is just going to soak in that picture again and dream of being in a place like that. Oh, enjoy and let the Lord richly bless you in many ways! May you be totally refreshed.

  4. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time... yes, our Borders went out of business too... so sad, I really love Books and so many of the major Book Stores are closing their doors around here.

Thanks for your complimentary and sweet words to my Blogaversary Post. Yes, I've been told that the comments section has been having a Blogger Glitch, they must be tweaking the system?

  7. What a perfect roost for reflection! I know you're having a blast, but methinks your soul is being rejuvenated in ways that will linger long after you return home.

    Enjoy!

  8. So glad for your respite from busyness; for coffee cake and coffee and thrift store finds for $1. May God grant you many moments of peace as you continue down the road! You always make life sound pleasing and desirable. Thank you for the pause you bring to my heart.

  9. Oh my goodness...I just read who your conference speaker was. Rex is our friend. He stayed with us during a revival when Melanie was just months old (26 years ago). Since then RB had played for him to sing, even going on concert Beckham. I love hearing Rex preach. Such a "right where we live" kind of preacher.

Glad you got to opt for a Borders visit.
