"Press On"

When the valley is deep
When the mountain is steep
When the body is weary
When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard
When we're battered and scarred
When we've spent our resources
When we've given our all

In Jesus' name, we press on
In Jesus' name, we press on
Dear Lord, with the prize
Clear before our eyes
We find the strength to press on.
(Press On, Dan Burgess)

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:13-14)
Today I have to borrow the words of others
to press on myself!
I pray that they may minister to others
who need this encouragement, too.

  1. How wonderful and powerful is that Name above
all others. Everything we need is found in Him.
Thanks for this beautiful reminder today.

  2. Thanks...needed these words this morning! Yes and Amen...In Jesus Name!...press on!

  3. Beautiful, beautiful words... Today I am fine. As we navigate our way Home via this world we have our up times and our downs. That's why we need each other. I'm praying for you today dear sister.

I prayed for His presence, and for unexpected blessing today to encourage and strengthen you.

    Hugs, Debbie

  4. So thankful that we've been given every spiritual blessing, including what is needed to press on anyway...

    Praying encouragement for you,

  5. Wonderful words of encouragement to me Rebecca, I really needed to hear this today.
I will be praying for you too.

  6. These are words that minister to me today too. Thank you for posting them.

  7. These words are so encouraging. I plan to print them and place a copy on the fridge so I can re-read them frequently.

  8. I love this song but it's been a long time since I've heard it. Needed that encouragement today. Paul said it first...I want to press toward heaven.
