My Two Fathers

Thanking God for my father who has given me a glimpse of what my Heavenly Father is like...loving, dependable, kind, generous, wise, creative, and faithful.

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that's also why the world doesn't recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he's up to. But friends, that's exactly who we are: children of God. And that's only the beginning. Who knows how we'll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we'll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own. (I John 3:1-3, The Message)

I love that last quote Rebecca. I've heard it before and read it to Jake, he liked it too.
Isn't it sad that some people don't believe in things that they can't see?

Thanking God today for a father who had all those qualities as well! Oh how I miss him! I haven't been in the habit of using The Message bible but I REALLY like that paraphrased passage!! I just read it to Bob. Have a great day!

I loved this post Rebecca~ Father's day is a time to enjoy, and appreciate our earthly fathers. But it's also a time to reflect on a loving Father who gave us this earthly relationship to help us understand what it means to be His child. Blessings to you...

THE BLOGGER'S PRAYER Lord, help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life.
