What's It Worth?

My husband rescued this chest of drawers from a curb.  Step by step, he replaced and repaired broken and warped parts.  It turned out quite handsomely..  HOWEVER, we do NOT have a need for it or SPACE for it!  So this morning it sits in front of our house on a busy street with a price on it  (that is, a price on the chest -- not the street). How do you put a price on something like this?  It has to be inexpensive enough to attract a buyer.  I  know our $30 asking price will never repay my husband for the hours he invested in it.

I got thinking about the price that Judas (the Betrayer) put on our precious Lord Jesus Christ the night he "sold" him.  Thirty pieces of silver!  This price in NO way indicated what Jesus was worth.  Little did Judas take into account all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are in Jesus (Colossians 1:3)!  Fact is, there IS no way to measure what He's worth!  Though some of the lyrics of the song "Above All" require discernment in analysis, these particular ones are truth:
Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth...
This morning, I'm challenged to revisit the Treasure of Jesus and examine the value I place on Him and my relationship with Him.  Meanwhile, I'm hoping SOMEONE thinks the chest of drawers is worth $30.  Or even $25...  (Come on people!  The "pulls" are worth more than the total asking price!)

LATE BREAKING NEWS!  I sold it for $27.  A lady says, "It's just the storage her granddaughter needs..."  (She had 2 $20s  and $7 in bills.  I took the $27, thankful that it will fill a need for a family moving into a new apartment.)

  1. The dresser was a beautiful project! I think the price was just right. It's so fun to get something new like that and fill it up with things that didn't have a *home*.

  2. Wow! That lady got a great deal! It turned out beautiful and will last for a very long time. You/Gary blessed that family.

I have a darling little plant stand that I used for years. The top broke recently and I am going to send it home with Donna sometime for your Gary to repurpose and for you to sell or use as you choose. I just cannot toss it.
