The Circle of Blogging

Thanks to my newest "follower" Betty (I dislike that "follower" tag but that's what we're stuck with)  I "discovered" Jeanette!   That's what happens!  I go to Betty's blog--read several posts, check out her sidebar, see who SHE reads, and discover Jeanette.  Thus, the "circle of blogging".  I'm sure YOU've done it, too.

The link I did to Jeanette's blog will take you to a most interesting way of planning a week.  I had never heard of her method before, but think I may try it for a month or so.  It makes a lot of sense.  I'm a list-maker and goal-setter like her.

Somewhere in the circle, I came across another woman's way of observing Lent. (Unfortunately I didn't make a note of where I found her and can't reconstruct the circle.)  It's too late for me THIS year, but I sure want to remember it for next year.  Even if I make great progress in getting rid of stuff before then, the idea of bagging up a bag a day (for a total of 40) of unwanted items to give away or throw away makes a lot of sense!

What have YOU learned recently while in the circle of blogging?

  1. I dislike the name "follower" too, and decided to take mine off of my blog, just a personal thing. I know Janette and she has also become a wonderful blogging friend too.I am so thankful for all my friends here in blogland,
    Thanks for sharing.
Wishing you and your family a very Blessed Easter.

  2. Sue, (or anyone reading this) Is there another way to know when & who an additional "follower" joins ranks? I like to return the visit. And I "follow" myself so as to receive notification when they post...

  3. Yes, I too am thankful for my blogging friends. I feel led from time to time to post articles that I feel strongly about and it is comforting, humbling, and satisfying to know that others take an interest and comment. Rebecca, you are such an encourager. Blogging is a small world for me right now, but it is a way to make a little impact at this stage of my life, hopefully encouraging people with challenging thoughts, beauty, or humor. Glad I found your blog which is always uplifting!

  5. Rebecca: Thank you so much for the link to my blog. Like you, I seek to encourage and uplift Jesus and others. I'm glad you were helped by my post.

If you want to see new followers, just go to your sidebar where it says Followers, and click on a new face--it's usually in the upper left corner of the block of faces. This should take you to the person's profile, and their list of blogs, so you can go to them and follow them.

I only need one more follower to hit 200, and I'll have a party with prizes for ALL!!! How I love giving prizes!!!!

  7. Remember the older version of Peter Pan where the children are singing,"We're following the leader, the leader, the leader... We're following the leader wherever he may go!" In this walk of ours some of us are followers of Christ. Even when we don't know it, we are being observed by others in "real time" and perhaps what they see in us may cause them to become a 'follower' of Him. I'm just sayin'...

  8. Speaking of blog circles - I found your blog today because you commented on my blog. As I read down through some of your posts, I see a link to Jeanette and click on it. It is Jeanette Levellie who I know from my youth in California where I grew up! We went to the same church. I love her - she is great! What a small world!

Thanks too, for your lovely comments on my blog.

  9. I follow very few people, rather, I have a place in my bookmarks/favorites that I keep track of the blogs I love. I do like to *click* around sometimes and look..........but I always go back to my favorites. I need to keep my circle kind of small because I have lots of weeds, bunnies and thrift stores that need my attention. I look for motivating type blogs.....blogs that make me want to be a better Christian, mom, friend, wife and.....decorator. I enjoy Rebecca's blog because we seem to enjoy the same things!
