In the Morning

Our kitchen/dining table - with casual tablecloth for "everyday".
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.  (Psalm 5:3)
It is still dark outside.  My week looms large in front of me.
Calendar spaces are fuller than usual this week.
With the new day comes new strength.  New courage.  New expectations.
One of our devotional headings this morning was "Expect to Hear His Voice".
Standing out to me were these sentences...
  • Hearing the voice of the Spirit is a privilege that the Bible says belongs to every believer (Romans 8:14).
  • Jesus said His sheep will know His voice.
  • If you're not familiar with what the Word says, you'll find it more difficult to discern His leading.
  • Meditate and study the Word of God.
  • Act on what you find in the Word, not just when it's easy but every time.
  • Be obedient even in the slightest things.
That LAST one is my particular desire today--to be obedient in the slightest things!
I DO expect to hear His voice!  I NEED to hear His voice.

  1. Love the look of your table and chairs! You really do have the Christmas tree up? :) I like each one of the statements in your devotional today. Sometimes when I question "was that GOD speaking to me?" I do remember His Word that says we as His sheep will know His voice. And I really like the statement "If you're not familiar with what the Word says, you'll find it more difficult to discern His leading." He will never speak to us or lead us in a way that is contrary to what He has already revealed in His Word! I'm waiting in joyful expectation today to hear from HIM!

  2. Yep! That's STILL the tree. Don't judge me too harshly :) I figure as long as there's still snow on the ground, my winter tree might as well be hanging around, too!

  9. This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for us. A tri-state competition with RB and I judging and Emily competitng. I will need my time with God before each day begins.

I love the gimpse into your kitchen. I'm amused to find you use the same pen that I do.
