Blue Christmas

By lamplight
in the early morning...
no lights...just blue bulbs and ornaments on this small "wall tree"
hanging between windows in our dining area
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December;
A magnificent thing
And sweet to remember:
"We are nearer to spring
Than we were in September."
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

  4. What a pretty tree. Love the blue. That
quote from Andrew Murray is one of my
favorites of his. Love the poetry too.

  5. Sandy, Did I "steal" it (the A.M. quote) off of your blog?

  6. What a pretty little tree, Rebecca. Blue is my favorite color.

Reading this short entry and looking at the pictures somehow made me homesick...for the eternal beauty of heaven.

Whenever I look at the pictures you post of your home, or of the things that catch your eye, I always appreciate that you are one woman whose love for beauty touches my heart.

    Love

  9. No, you didn't steal it off my blog. I
have another Murray quote on mine. But
I might have to steal it off of yours
now!! I could do a whole blog of nothing
but his quotes. His walk with the Lord
was so precious and it showed in all
    he wrote.

  11. Courtney, I never expected your visit to Life and Godliness! It took me awhile to "find you back"...but when I did, I thought how busy you must be if you are visiting everyone who signs up for your generous give-away!
