Grapes, anyone?

Over eleven years ago, I lived in one of the most beautiful areas of our country!  Vineyards surrounded me, and I began my collection of  GRaPe-tHEmEd items.  Unfortunately, I no longer have space to store or display them and am ready to part with them.  If you know someone who may be interested in giving them a home, please let me know!  There are more to be seen on my Thrifty Style blog...I'm still looking into my nooks and crannies to find additional pieces!

I shall miss this visual reminder of the love that God has for HIS vineyards--how He plants, tends, protects and expects fruit from it!  Almost from the beginning of creation, there were grapes!  In fact, I understand that no plant is mentioned more times in the Bible than the grape and its products--mainly wine, but also raisins and vinegar.

Jesus told his disciples that He was the vine and they (we) were the branches.  The goal is FRUIT!  And fruit happens when the branches "abide" in the vine--drawing their nourishment and health from it.  Apart from the Vine, I can produce NOTHING of eternal significance.

Even when (if) I no longer have my collection, I will make it my goal to "abide in the Vine"!

  1. Wow! Beautiful things! I, too, love the vine/branch/abiding truths. Makes it so easy to understand our relationship with the Father.

  3. Yes, Bernie...I DO have "so many things." That's why I need to divest myself of "many things"!

  4. I even see grapes in two paintings on the wall!
Hope you find a good home for them!

  5. Yes, Wanda! The one on the right is the needlepoint one that goes with the "lot"! The other is a "keeper" - a gift from my parents who commissioned it to be painted by a friend - I think it was copied off a picture in an old Ideal magazine over 35 years ago...

  8. I also love the symbolism of grapes~the fruit of the VINE! I have a small stained glass grape bunch that a dear friend made me that hangs in my dining room window with my small collection...and before we redid our kitchen a couple years ago, I used a little of the grape theme in there. With all the pineapples I have around here, I need to pass on the grapes...but what a fantastic collection you have enjoyed Rebecca! Is that doily design called "pineapple"? I have one too that my grandmother made! smaller though...

  9. Jacquelyn, Di might know the name of the doily design...I just know I like it! I'll have to look at it closer (that involves picking up the "caddy" holding the grapes--which is a little awkward).
