The Week that Was

A little of this and a little of that...
  • Overnight at a friend's lake cottage - swimming, pontooning, walking, eating,  conversing, and generally enjoying each other's company
  • An hour catching up/praying with a friend who has been on vacation
  • A Border's Afternoon with husband
  • An evening at Cinema Center watching "The Secret in Their Eyes" (an Academy award-winner for Best Film in a Foreign Language).  I think this was the first foreign language film I've ever watched.  I was surprised the captions didn't get in my way of enjoying the film!
  • Cleaned out and reorganized a couple of cupboards.  What a great feeling!
  • Gave away a couch and chair.  Saturday we set them out for sale.  By 3:00, I was ready to give them away.  The FREE sign did the trick!  Within fifteen minutes they were gone.  They were "vintage" when we bought them, and we've enjoyed them for almost 20 years!  Where HAS the time gone?
  • Spent $1.25 at a garage sale coming home from the lake.  $1 of it was for a Gladys Taber book.  A quarter bought me a lovely piece of pottery.
  • Operating a few days as a 1 car family. Not nearly as complicated as I might have imagined.
  • I've been coping with a bit of stomach problem.  Hopefully it's about over.  It's no fun.
  • I wonder what NEXT week will bring?

  2. What a wonderful week! A variety of activities and all sounded very gratifying. Hope the tummy thing is short-lived. Hubs goes to St. V's for an endoscopy tomorrow morning and would appreciate prayers.

  5. Hi Rebecca, Sounds wonderful to me! Especially the boat ride! Just love the Lord's little blessings for us!

I will pray for you and your hubby. I am seeing a GI guy tomorrow, so please keep me in prayer, too. I'm suppose to fly to my sister's Thursday but can't if there is a problem that needs to be dealt with!!

    Hugs to you,
    Becky

  7. It sounded so fun that I wish I could have come along! I hope your stomach troubles go away soon Rebecca. I don't know what it is but it seems that so many people don't feel good anymore. Lots that I know. It sort of makes me suspicious if you know what I mean. Maybe I'm just getting a bit paranoid.
Anyway, wish I could have seen the couch, I need one!!! Love and Hugs, get better!!!!
    Love Di ♥

  8. Sounds like a great time all the way around. Even when you were being productive. Hope you feel better soon...that happened to me recently when we were out of town. Sometimes I think the change in drinking water has something to do with it.
