In spite of air-conditioning and forced-air furnace, I am amazed at how much weather affects my life. We have planned to attend a House and Garden Walk at 11:00 this morning. I'm hopeful these raindrops are short-lived! We haven't bought our tickets yet - just because the weather has been so unpredictable!
I'm trying to plan the days our grandsons will spend with us Sunday through Wednesday. I realize how much depends on the heat factor and the rain/storm possibilities.
Since I don't have a "9-5" job, most of my waking hours are influenced by the weather. One thing I need to work on is not letting the weather influence or control my emotions and attitudes!
When I was a child we used to sing a chorus that went something like this: "Why should I care if the sun doesn't shine? Jesus is mine; all of the time..." I searched in vain for the rest of the words that I'm a little unsure of, but there are PLENTY of other songs with the title "Whatever the Weather"!
While I wait to know whether or not we will do the House Walk, I am baking Mulberry Cobbler & roasting some peanuts in the shell at the same time. And whatEVER the weather, Jesus IS mine--ALL of the time.
Weather doe not affect me as much , in my moods, as it did. What can more is financial worries, health worries , that can affect my days more...and we are not supposed to worry about that either ! Life is short, and God will take care of us all. Take care ! Gina
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to make the garden walk, sounds beautiful and I know you would get some lovely photo's....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for rain, we haven't had any for some time now. As I was weeding this morning I kept asking God for a breeze. I didn't get it so I went in. A good idea as the temp. today is 109 with the heat index! So I took that as a sign to give up. Maybe you can do a rain dance for us! LOL! Or get the grandkids to do one! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
My mom and I were going to do the Garden Walk here in Mt. Clemens, but the tickets were tooooo much! Besides, John & I had our 8 month old graddaughter, Eliana over night. Pricless!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe will have a full house in August when Irene & family come so Irene and I can participate in the Cancer 3 Day. Can't wait for the joyful chaos!!!!
A good way to live this "weather"; honestly, I think we picked the hottest week to move, and it seems to be 10 degrees hotter in this place even though it's only an hour south.
ReplyDeleteWe're settling in; stress overload and barely breathing. Tomorrow is our first Sunday with our new church family. There will be grief mixed with joy and a bit of dreaming with it all. Thanks for any prayers you've prayed for us; we feel them everyone.
Blessed Sabbath rest to you, friend.
peace~elaine
