Sculptures on the Square

At the end of an already jam-packed day, we drove north a few miles to Auburn (IN) and viewed the statues!  These life-size  cast bronze sculptures by Seward Johnson are placed around the courthouse square.  There were at least 13 of them and it is well worth the drive to enjoy these great pieces of art!  They'll be there through September 15th..

The evening couldn't have been better weather-wise!  We capped it off by making s'mores in our back yard.

  1. Your cute grandsons fit right in and seem to be part of a few of the scenes, Rebecca!

The weather has turned great here too...enjoy your time with the grandchildren and the "s'mores", that use to be a routine favorite here too!

  3. These sculptures are great! I love this! Thanks for sharing them and your grandsons with us.

Our weather is still so very hot. It's supposed to reach 100 today! Ugh! I may have to break down and hop in the pool with my grandson this afternoon.

    Enjoy yourself!
    Love to you,

  4. It was hard to tell in the photos that they were statues! I don't know that I would have noticed had you not told me! And the grandkids posed perfectly, that helped! Love Di ♥

  6. What a fun place to visit! Love those statues! Your little grandsons are so cute, and I'm sure they are having a great time with you. We - the grandkids and I - made smores, too, but we used the microwave since it's extremely hot here.

  8. I have 3 1/2 days before Lynn comes home. I think I might just take a drive to Auburn, and maybe also try to find the little restaurant you told me about.

  10. I had a hard time telling the statues apart from the grandkids, especially the one where you're included! What fun. Anytime you'd like a few more, give me a holler. I'll gladly make the 2 day drive.
