I spent most of today at a church in the community attending a Beth Moore simulcast. Apparently more than 300,000 women attended either the live event or gathered at over 850 sites to view the seminar on large screen today. The topic: Overcoming Insecurity (not so coincidentally the topic of her recently-released book).
One of the joys of aging and maturing in faith is that I don't struggle with this issue as much as I did in younger years (sort of like that "When I Grow Old....I'll Wear Purple" sentiment). Still there was much to learn from Ephesians 4, and the time spent with an old friend and making new ones made the day worthwhile!
I still struggle with insecurity but the the Lord is working on a healing as I write this and hopefully I will soon be struggle free from this pesky infliction. It sounds like a good day. I enjoy seminars.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to attend Beth's
ReplyDeleteseminar. She's a favorite of mine.
I haven't read the book. Would you
recommend it?
I would have loved to been a part of one of Beth Moore's Seminars. I think she has such an amazing sense of humor and her love for the Lord is so apparent. I bet you had a wonderful day.!!! ((((HUGS)))) T
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice day.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your day my friend, sounds very interesting........:-) hugs
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound boastful at all. I've come to understand this as well; the older I grow, the more secure in who I am in Jesus Christ. If I wasn't actively pursuing him and his Word, then I don't imagine I would feel this way. He makes me confident in who I am in light of who he IS!
