Monday Memories

A drive through beautiful scenery took us to Waynesville, NC, where my husband golfed while I explored several artists' shops and galleries and searched out thrift stores.  We stopped in Dillsboro for cold drinks -- a fruit smoothie for me.  While sitting in the comfortable chairs on the porch of the chocolate/coffee shop, this hen strutted lazily about the side yard.

After a wonderful spinach/bean/tomato soup supper (I'll post the recipe in the recipe section) we walked in the National Park looking for trillium in bloom.  It's a little early.  This was one of the few we found.
The other pictures I took of wildflowers did not come out so well...but these were two of the small falls we passed.
Because of my difficulty walking downward slopes particularly, we stayed pretty much on the flat trails.  Another beautiful day of vacation complete, we slept like babies!
