"I'M A PRESENT!"

We met our grandchildren at a Dairy Queen to celebrate T's birthday.  Here he is, ready to open the extravagantly wrapped present!  Note the white, upturned cup to the left.  It covers the make-shift home of his pet lady bug which he found in his Sunday School class earlier in the day!
He had plenty of help discovering what was inside his package!
After ice cream treats and great conversation, he left the D.Q. wearing and carrying his gifts.
Donning the ribbon, he declared joyfully, "I'm a present!"
Yes, you are, T!
In the parking lot, while making the exchange of a bushel of apples from one car to the other, we had an adventure.
Granddaughter A watches as Grandpa helps corral the stray apples.

  1. I haven't visited for a bit... Love the new look! We're having some grandparenting troubles... would you please pray for Zachary? He is 2 1/2, living with his single mom and two older brothers from a previous relationship and there is evidence of abuse. Our hearts are breaking and we are crying out to the Lord for His protection for this little guy. We have also gotten the authorities involved, but it has only caused more ill feelings.

  4. Actually, Di, I DO plant to make an apple sheet cake for the Lenten Luncheon our church is responsible for providing this Wednesday. It is an interesting recipe - roll 1/2 dough, cover with and apple filling, and roll the other half & place over apples. Bake & frost. I've never made it before but found it when I googled "apple sheet cake".

  5. Actually, I "PLAN" - not "PLANT" (see previous comment).

  6. Yes, yes, what a precious present indeed.

Oh Rebecca, that is dear! I wonder if you would like to write a children's book with that title.

  7. Hope your grandson T had a great day, Rebecca.
I see a hint of his grandfather in T's cute little smiling face. Hope your apple cake turns out good. I just copied an apple cake recipe, that seemed a little different myself.
