Only a Warm-Up....

Christmas Day was a warm-up for the bigger celebration and family gathering Sunday through Wednesday!  My nieces and nephew taught Grandpa a new game.  We enjoyed soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit and cookies.  Table games filled out the afternoon.

Our weekly gatherings at church or in fellowship groups (i.e. our Christian family) are similar warm-ups for the eternity we'll spend together in the presence of our Lord!  What it will actually be like, I can only imagine....

  1. Sounds like you had a good time. Looks like they were focused on the game.

We are meeting at the Holiday Inn Express off of I-69 and Jefferson today with all the Gisels that are able to make it. Brenda and Bob had lots of snow, but are still coming. Lynn & I went and visited with my brother Lowell and Sheila and their family as they arrived there last night about 7pm. (They hadn't eaten and everything was closed, so we took them some ham sandwiches)

We get to reveal the secret today--I'm very excited! Have fun with your family the next few days. Blessings and Christmas joy! Donna

  4. Oh...I'm curious! What's the game? (It could be that I'm nosey...but I'll deny that!)
I hope that you have a wonderful time, Rebecca.
Joyous hugs to you from Jackie

  5. Jackie, It's Blokkus (or maybe that's not how it's spelled.) It sounds like "block us". It is fun. Works your brain, too. We also played a couple of games with dice (one we call "I Doubt It"), and then Apples to Apples. I'd heard a lot about A2A but never played it before. It was fun for 9 people.

  6. I love family games..I must admit I have not heard of any of the games mentioned. My favorite is Uno. I am not good at any games that I have to think...simple and silly..that is my style. Thank you for sharing pictures of your home for Christmas. I have enjoyed seeing all of your decor. :)
