If You "Enlarge" the Photo and Look Carefully....

"I didn't photograph the entire tree because something caught my eye. There is a single bird perched on a twig high in our son's tree. I wanted to see if I could photograph the little bird. I snapped the shot. I looked at the photo on my camera display, and was disappointed to see that the bird was so small, it didn't appear to show up. The bird is there, though. If you enlarge the photo and look carefully, you can see him."

These words of Jackie (click on her name to see the tree and the bird) used without her permission grabbed my attention -- which promptly flew away and perched firmly to these words of the Psalmist David stored in my memory: "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!" (Psalm 34:3)

Oh, my friends! The Lord is "there"! Sometimes we're disappointed to see that He appears so "small" or even that He doesn't "appear to show up". BUT--if you enlarge the "photo" and look carefully, you can see Him!
Let us all take the time to MAGNIFY the Lord today.

  1. I don't know how you think of these great analogies--it must be God-given. It's a great thought to take with me for the day. (And I better get started with my day--I've been at this computer too long!)

  2. Rebecca, I've been thinking about that so much, but more the fact that He has to be magnified not because He seems not to be showing up, but just because I minimize Him!
I need to magnify Him in my life and minimize myself.
It's been hard. I never realized just how self-involved I am. You wouldn't believe how hard it is for me to put another's interest before my own.
    All the best,

  4. Rebecca ~

Thank you for sharing this story that Jackie posted... And thank you for the gentle nudge that sometimes we think He is small or doesn't appear to show up ~ but if we magnify the picture, He is there!

Having a rough time lately, but continuing to hope and trust the Lord is 'showing up' in the midst of it all. Thank you for the reminder. So thankful for friends He has brought into my life that bless me and encourage me!

I shall PRAISE His Name for He is the Lord...

  5. There is nothing like Praising the Lord through our hard times. Yes, we seem to think HE is small, but it is because we are seeing HIM through our eyes ~ which seem to be a bit out of focus ;)

But when you fix the lense of your heart and mind - HE can not be contained in the frame!

Thank you for such encouraging words dear friend,

  7. I was confused at first! I thought I somehow clicked on Jackie's post again instead of yours Rebecca! It had me feeling a little senile for a moment! But it was worth it. I was doing so much praying this morning and magnifying our Lord! Love Di

  14. Oh so true. He's as close as the next breath, ans strong as the mighty oak and as gentle as the soft breeze. He's the next heart beat. Oh that the mere thought of Him catches my breath and make my heart race with antisipation.
That my lamp may remain lamp as I wait to hear "BEHOLD, THE BRIDGROMM COMETH!!!!!"
