I was on my way to church yesterday turning the radio dial in my car when I heard the info-mercial...a free trial offer of a new supplement to remove the toxins from the brain! A supplement to improve memory back to where it was 10 years ago! Other benefits were promised, too. I searched for a pen and paper to write them down, but I didn't find them fast enough! I'd forgotten what they were when I finally arrived at church and tried to remember. I couldn't even remember the telephone number to call for my sample! 1-800-748-something....
But here's an ancient remedy I DO remember for keeping one's thinking sharp! "Be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2) "Whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8).
Amen my friend.
ReplyDeleteOur memory is worse with age because we have so much MORE to remember...like a bogged down computer. Then even at an older age...I hear we start remembering some things the way we wished they had been. A good reason to live your life in a way to have no regrets.
ReplyDeleteThat new supplement probably wouldn't work anyway! Better to stick with the Lord and let Him "bring all things to our remembrance"--at least everything we really need to remember!
ReplyDeleteThat's better then a pill and a lot easier to swallow!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh! Thank God His word is much better than any detox.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably just a bunch of jelly bellies as they do work very well or you get enough of a sugar high that you don't care if you remember stuff or not!
ReplyDeleteGod alone has the BEST detox for our brains if we let HIm into our hearts and minds!
blessings and hugs,
marcy
Sisters! You all "get it"! It's so good to be in such wise company!
ReplyDeleteNothing like the Truth of God's Word to make you remember the important things in life ;)
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have returned encouraged and a bit overwhelmed with information from the "weekend".
Thank you for sharing, as always I leave, inspired and encouraged!
lady m
Cathy, really don't have much faith in these informercials but have tons of faith in God.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.....:-) Hugs
I think I heard that same commercial! And it was Omega-something! But better you stick with The Alpha And The Omega! Praise God!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Eileen
Eileen, what a brilliant connection Omega-something vs. the Alpha & Omega!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading this and all the comments, to which of course I add a hearty "AMEN!"
ReplyDeleteThere is no god.
ReplyDeleteTrue story.
