True Love = Painting My Old Bicycle

Look what my dear husband finished today! I selected celery and purple as the new colors for my old, reliable bicycle (Sears Roebuck and Co., Free Spirit A035-77. We think that means it was manufactured in 1977). I am thrilled with the results. My husband shows his love in SO many ways. Thank you, Gary. I love you.

  1. Your bike came out beautiful Rebecca. I really want a bike. Especially lately. I've been dreaming about it. I haven't had one in 40 years and I gave up riding then because I would always run into things! I took it as a sign!

  2. My bike is similar only mine is a dull brown color, never thought to paint it but since I've seen yours I just may do that. Rebecca it sounds like you have a wonderful husband, I love seeing happy couples.......:-) Hugs

  3. Diana, I'd take that as a sign, too! Bernie, you are gracious and generous. I know you miss your husband. Instead of being bitter, you encourage others and teach us all how to be kinder. Denise, I know you are in a hard time yourself. Still you are always complimentary. God bless you ALL, my friends.

  4. It's very pretty. I like your color choices very much! It looks happy!
But more, I appreciate the fact that your husband took the time to do something he knew would make you happy. And I know how much that means to you and that you know that's the best gift of all.

And I whole-heartedly agree with your sentiments of Bernie. She's the best! And a remarkable example that we all should aspire to. And you are a good friend too, to point that out (not that Bernie doesn't shine on her own). I've met some pretty wonderful people here in the Blog World.

  5. Hi Rebecca,
Nice ride you have there, your dh did a fantastic job. i am always so blessed when I read about all of the nice things that husbands do for their wives and how appreciative the wives are. I too have avery special husband who always helps me with my projects no matter what they are. Thank you for sharing.
I also enjoyed your post about your Saturday walk. great pictures a very neat garden. Regarding Sandra D's Restaurant it goes without saying that we should not believe everything we hear, aren't you glad you didn't listen to the report, and by so doing you have now found this quaint restaurant for just the two of you.
As always I enjoy visiting you.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  6. Great job hubby! Nice work.

Your bicycle looks beautiful Rebecca! Now, you need a delightful summer hat, some capris and white tennis shoes and you'll be 'magazine' ready to cycle about town...

  7. I actually DO have a delightful summer hat and some capris. No white tennis shoes. Maybe I can do something about that...I am trying out wicker baskets for the front of the bicycle, too. I took off the small wire one and need something to bring the mail home in (I know. Don't end sentences with a preposition...but I can never figure out how not to.)

  8. Prepositions are so naughty...they manage to get on the end of sentences so often!

Enjoyed catching up on your posts and wish we had a quaint restaurant like that to try.

Your hubby did a great job on your bike, but how come we don't get a picture of you riding it?

    blessings and hugs,

    marcy
