The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Et Cetera

The day turn out fine for the zoo. A little humid, but generally cool. The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo recently opened The African Journey. It has a lot of hands on activities - including the bongo drums. The children were less interested in the animals in front of them and more inclined to say, "Let's see something else."

I took a couple of hours out of the day to have lunch with a friend who is making decision regarding her husband, an Alzheimer's patient.

We grilled out this evening. The humidity cleared up, and we took a walk to the park around the corner from our house. As I write, the children are getting their baths and grandparents are getting ready to crash!

  1. Sounds like you had a nice day!
    Get some rest!

And good luck to your friend. Alzheimer's is a long, heartbreaking way to lose someone.

  2. So glad your weather wasn't too bad for the zoo today Rebecca. It was 98 with the heat index here today and very humid! Yuck. The photos are adorable and if I were you I would be exhausted! It sounds like you deserve a good rest!

  3. Sounds like you had a nice day. Sorry about your friend's husband, it must be very hard to make a decision like that. How nice of you to take time to have lunch with her when you are entertaining your grandchildren. You are a very special lady...Have fun tomorrow with your family.....:-)Hugs

  4. Love that picture of your grandson with the drum...too cute! glad you had such a good time.

Sorry to hear about your friend's good that you can be there for her.
