IT DIDN'T RAIN ON OUR "PARADE"

Twenty-three people gathered at the Home Connection last night. It was a casual evening of enjoying each others company, eating, and playing. Home Connections are the small group fellowships in our church that meet Sunday evenings every other week. We usually spend some organized time studying the Word and praying, but this week we celebrated the holiday.

Only a few drops of rain fell (though the sky looked ominous at times). AND our clematis bloomed for the first time yesterday--just in time to grace our gathering! It IS an odd one. I don't remember it being this shape last year, but I'm sure it was.

  1. We got a ton of rain yesterday and it filled our new rain barrel that Michael set up yesterday as well! So nice that the rain held off for your celebration!

The Home Connection sounds like such a wonderful idea.

  2. We're waiting for OUR rain here...although we had plenty earlier and farmers needed a break so they could get their crops in! I think our barrel is 57 or 58 gal. How big is yours? Apparently the "fill" depends on the amount of roof surface that slopes toward the gutter....

  3. Looks like you had the perfect family picnic. I love the picture of family sitting on the quilt to eat. I am glad the weather was good. My Frank is sick with a head cold and a sore throat, so we cancelled all out door plans. The weather has been cool and the mosquitos are horrible. My son-n-law sprayed last night so hopefully i won't be needing a blood transfusion. Dee

  4. I am glad for you! These "Home Connections" are God's gifts--especially to those of us that do not have children that live close enough to share a picnic. I am sure the other 22 people were blessed as well.

  5. Amen! A couple of the kids are the same ages (within a week, even!) of a few of our grandchildren - so we can watch and imagine the changes in our own grandchildren. God is gracious.

  6. Dearest Rebecca,

I am so glad that you had such a wonderful time! The "Home Connections"...what a great idea. We are a small congregation and everyone tends to end up over each other's houses all the time there is a holiday and such!

Your clematis is absolutely beautiful :)
