Mercy

Just Give Me Jesus

None of our nativity sets are "perfect".
This particular one must be missing a shepherd.
Surely there was more than one!
But I love the way it fits the empty stable that I found at a thrift store.
The ones below have been assembled from
unrelated pieces from various sets.
 I'm quirky like that.
Even these three magi didn't come together!
There are so many pieces in this one - carved and from the Philippines.
Maybe it IS complete!
And this one is one piece, so I guess nothing  COULD be missing!
I just can't bring myself to add anything to THIS one.
As Anne Graham Lotz's book is titled,
Just Give Me Jesus.
He is enough for me.  This Christmas and forever.

  1. Hi Rebecca,
I love seeing everyones nativity sets, they are so varied and so different, and even the pcs. get set up differently. Unfortunately, we lost one of our wise men to brokenville. Somehow he got knocked off the table he was standing on years ago now....
Course, scripturally they shouldn't even be a part of that scene as they didn't see the Christ child for 2 or 3 years after he was born. But they are certainly a part of the Christmas story!!
So how are you doing these days?? Well, I hope,
and I hope you are having a lovely Christmas Season.
    Have a wonderful day hon,
    Blessings, Nellie

  2. Just lovely, all of them. Did you notice my "Little People" nativity in the picture on my blog. I love that thing and that the kids can play their hearts out with it :) Do you have a copy of Anne Graham Lotz's book? Maybe you could set it by that last Nativity...just a thought!

  3. I don't have room for many nativty sets,(and only have about 3) but I'm partial to my Haitian one, which is the one I have displayed.
I love the sentiment of that last one--Just give me Jesus--I haven't read her book. Donna

  4. What more could we want? He is first & last, and through Him all other things are given meaning. I'm with you: nothing more to be said.

  6. This is such a lovely post, Rebecca. I loved the lone shepherd that fits perfectly in the empty stable you got at the thrift store. I love the way you mix and match your manger scenes.

Well, seeing the handcarved set from my own country was a delight to my heart!

But you are right, after all the decorating... just give m Jesus! He's the reason for the season!

    Have a meaningful advent season.

    Love

  8. Great post! I know quite a few folks who have Nativity collections. If I had the room I'd have a ton of them too!
I do have a collection of just Baby Jesus, but I haven't put it out yet. I'll be clearing my sideboard tomorrow to make room for them.
Thanks for sharing this. I SO enjoyed it!
    Love and Prayers,
    Eileen

  10. Did you drink your water this week Rebecca? I didn't get a reply so I thought I would swing by and check to see if things were falling together for you yet or if you're still thinking about it. Hope all is well.

  11. What beautiful nativity scenes! thanks for giving us glimpses of them... all beautiful in their own special way.

I just finished reading Father Tim's experience in Shepherds Abiding of his most rewarding experience of refurbishing a vintage derelict nativity scene for his beloved Cynthia. I just love that book and enjoy it every Christmas!

  12. love these sets. Most of mine are jhust the holy family. My whole one came with just one shepherd. I have several but I'd take yours too. My fave is the last. I have a lone baby Jesus and never thought of displaying alone,. I am on it now!

  13. Oh, how beautiful. Each nativity I see blesses me. This year Morgan's delight in each baby Jesus completely melted my busy heart and helped me to focus on Jesus. I, too, love "Just Give me Jesus." I've listened to it on tape several times.
