A Christmas Card Dilemma

Yesterday we received a Christmas card that
not only is beautiful,
but totally sums up the reason we celebrate!
"When you get right down to it,
the only thing that really matters is...
 Jesus
'Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent'."  (John 17:3 NIV)

WhatEVER will I do with this card at the end of the
Christmas season?  It's much to beautiful to do NOTHING with!
What do YOU do with Christmas cards from years past???

  1. That is a beautiful Christmas card. I usually save my cards and pack them with my decorations.
I know it's crazy but I enjoy looking at them.
    Blessings through out this season.

  3. I love the cards with sacred messages. Keep drinking your water and try to exercise 3 - 5 times a week (I am your personal trainer now) :-)

  4. One of the things I've done in the past and am planning on doing this year is taking the cards, at least the inside of the cards where the names are located, and create a prayer journal for the next year. Each day, I flip through the cards (one per day) and pray for the family who sent it.

    Just a thought...

I've seen others use the pictures to make ornaments and other items for Christmas. Also, some have cut the front of the card off and used it as a postcard for next year.

Beautiful card. Beautiful words given to me today at my blog. Many thanks.

  5. I am a lover of cards anyway so I save all my Christmas cards. Each year I take out those that I think are really beautiful and make a new collage on a wall near our front door or on the hall closet door. It's fun to do and very festive too. This card is so beautiful and the meaning is what Christmas is all about.

  6. I love Elaine's idea. If possible I reuse mine by taking off the signature page, pasting the front onto a fresh folded blank card, adding Christmas stickers, and rewriting the message. It's a little work but saves some money.

  7. I save Christmas cards. It seems that each year when I go through them, someone has gone home to be with Jesus. So I put their card out. It cheers me to look at Grand-dad and my Mothers handwriting.

  8. Love the card! I use old cards in my kids' Sunday School class, but I keep some special ones to display year after year.

  10. Oh, this is so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing it with us.

And the generic Seasonal cards I just put into the recycle bin, but the religious ones I keep, sometimes I frame them, or I use them to decorate the house.
This year they are just staying boxed away as I didn't go 'all out' decorating.

    Love and Prayers,
    Eileen

  11. Lovely card indeed, Rebecca! Meaningful message as well...

Again, as Christmas draws near, may your heart be drawn to the humility and simplicity of that first Christmas!

    Blessings and love,

  12. I keep them and use them to decorate with.
This year I made a christmas tree with them.
I lay them all out in the shape of a tree and put
masking tape on the back and stick them to the wall, and it looks great. If I get time I will probably post it when I do my white room. I also put them in my china hutches or on tabletops. I have one that I rec'd 10 yrs. ago probably that was from Dayspring and it talks about Jesus and who He is and I love it and put it out every year hoping any who come reads it.

Loved your picnicked picture and the caption you sent to your grandchildren, that was perfect,
so cute! and now you need to get someone to take
a nice picture of the 2 of you standing side by side and smiling, cause your kids and grandkids will want those one day...................

Hope you are having a very Merry christmas season.
    blessings, Nellie
