We would cook them with sugar and Loved the way they tasted mixed with the turkey! Mom would also cut the tops off of oranges in a zig zag pattern scrap them out then fill with the cooked cranberries and used them to decorate around the turkey. It was very pretty,
No cranberries this year though. It's kind of silly since I'm the only one that would eat them.
Love Di ♥Dianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429812875586479256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-163092593778837151.post-29882088326579011842010-11-22T15:56:26.338-05:002010-11-22T15:56:26.338-05:00Lori...sounds KIND of like my mother's except ...Lori...sounds KIND of like my mother's except hers wasn't molded. Clint's family always went all out for holiday meals and I remember literally counting at least 25 different dishes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. His grandma's cranberry relish made into a gelatin mold was my favorite of all the food! I have the recipe, but never can make it quite as good as hers. I think it has nuts and a red gelatin of some kind as well as orange peel, etc. I would have seconds on that every time.Lori Zehrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14487050268259026104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-163092593778837151.post-47918154209060383722010-11-22T14:41:26.765-05:002010-11-22T14:41:26.765-05:00I love to place dried cranberries and pecans in my...I love to place dried cranberries and pecans in my dressing/stuffing...It is delicious beyond words...trust me...it is my favorite dish at Thanksgiving!Wanda.....https://www.blogger.com/profile/00551160819558198338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-163092593778837151.post-36085627152967489052010-11-22T13:26:46.864-05:002010-11-22T13:26:46.864-05:00Jacquelyn, My mother makes a good cranberry/orange...Jacquelyn, My mother makes a good cranberry/orange relish. My Thanksgiving food contributions are always the same it seems: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and the pumpkin pies. So I hope someone else does cranberries!
