One of the office personnel said she has a saying taped to her computer. It reads, "Preparing for the day that we hope never comes". Preparedness paid off! Plans were set in motion and at the end of the day all staff and students were home. Safe and sound. The entire village seemed to sigh with relief.
Reading the message taped to the computer screen, I reflected on ANOTHER day--one that is SURE to come. I wonder how many people have put as much thought and planning into THAT day as the school system did into "the day we hope never comes"?
This is the day I'm talking about...
Matthew 25:31-46
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left...Then the King will say to those on his right, ''Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world...Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels..." Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Jesus)
Amen, and I prepared and ready. What a glorious day that will be............
